Peer Support at ISMS

At Impacted Survivors of Murder Suicide, we understand the layered and complex experience of losing a loved one to murder suicide. This type of loss often carries grief, stigma, and isolation that can feel difficult to name in other spaces. Our peer support calls are created by survivors, for survivors, offering connection with others who truly understand. Being in community with those who share lived experience can reduce isolation, foster resilience, and remind you that you are not alone in this journey.

Participation requires advance registration and agreement to our community guidelines to help maintain safety and respect for all.

All ISMS support calls are peer led spaces grounded in compassion, choice, and respect for each person’s pace. Our facilitators are fellow survivors who lead from lived experience. ISMS support calls are not therapy, medical care, or crisis services, and facilitators are not acting as licensed mental health providers. We ask all participants to honor confidentiality and help us maintain a respectful and private space for everyone.

Weeknight Support Circle

Weeknight Support Circle

The Weeknight Support Circle is a structured peer support gathering focused on coping and healing practices. Each session centers around a specific theme such as grounding, navigating anniversaries, identity shifts, managing shame, or rebuilding meaning after loss. These calls include guided prompts and practical tools designed to support reflection and emotional regulation. Sharing is always optional. Participants are welcome to speak or simply listen.

Sunday Share

Sunday Share

Sunday Share is an open, come as you are peer support space. This gathering is less structured and offers room for participants to share what is present for them in the moment, whether that is grief, milestones, questions, or simply the need to be witnessed. The focus is on connection, validation, and being heard in a community of fellow survivors who understand the complexity of this loss. Listening without sharing is always welcome.
