Comfort Calls
Comfort Calls
If you are not quite ready to join a peer support group but feel the need to talk, we offer individual Comfort Calls.
These virtual one to one conversations provide a gentle space to share what feels present for you. Whether you have questions about our community or simply need someone to listen, you will be met with care and understanding by members of our survivor led team.
Comfort Calls are not therapy and do not replace professional mental health care. They are simply an opportunity to connect, be heard, and take a small step toward support at your own pace.
When you feel ready, you are welcome to request a Comfort Call using the button below.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is a Comfort Call?
A Comfort Call is a virtual, one-to-one conversation for people who aren’t quite ready to join a peer support group but feel the need to talk. You’re matched with a member of ISMS’s survivor-led team who will listen with care and understanding.
What can I talk about on a Comfort Call?
Whatever feels present for you — questions about the ISMS community, or simply needing someone to listen. There’s no set agenda; it’s a gentle space to share at your own pace.
Is a Comfort Call the same as therapy?
No. Comfort Calls are not therapy and do not replace professional mental health care. They’re an opportunity to connect, be heard, and take a small step toward support.
How do I request a Comfort Call?
When you feel ready, use the “Connect” button on the page, which leads to the Contact page, to request one.
What if I'm in crisis right now?
Comfort Calls aren’t crisis services. If you’re in crisis, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) or text HOME to 741741 (Crisis Text Line) for free, 24/7 support.

SUPPORT IMPACTED SURVIVORS
Your donation is more than a gift—it’s a lifeline.
When you give to ISMS, you provide critical support to survivors of murder-suicide as they navigate trauma, grief, and the stigma that often follows. Your generosity helps offer safe spaces, healing resources, and community. Together, we can raise awareness, restore hope, and remind survivors they are not alone.
